NDAAACI Hosted 1st Asian-American Cultural Expo

Bismarck, N.D. – In celebration of the Asian-American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, North Dakota Asian-American Arts and Cultural Initiative hosted its first annual Asian-American Cultural Expo on May 28 held at the Bismarck Art and Galleries Association.

The growing Asian communities in Central North Dakota attended the expo bringing with them food and stories that showcased their Asian-American heritage. Several Asian countries like Japan, Indonesia, China, Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea and the Philippines were represented in the cultural exhibit.

Silent auction for works of artists Joan Klein and Liza Kessel also took place.
